Finally, here is my new site, well, part of it anyway! The journey, changing over from one theme to another and sorting out the new ‘Portfolio plus’, has been a long and bumpy one, but I feel I’m slowly finding my feet! Though maybe I shouldn’t speak too soon – there is still time for all to go belly-up!
I closed my original site 2 weeks ago as I decided to liven it up by making it more interactive and accessible. I moved to WordPress, which is fantastic and I would recommend them to anyone with or without experience! I chose a theme, which is fantastic looking, and every forum claimed it to be a cinch to use! But I have had serious problems setting it up. You may notice parts missing! The theme developer has been great with advice. If this attempt fails again there must be a more radical problem with coding or the upload of the theme or possibly from setting up my local site. To those who have no experience, all this may sound cool, but to those who have experience I bet all sounds daft. Whoever is reading this; I will get to the bottom of my 10-day saga so that I can get back to my real job!
Talking of which I have a commission to complete. My clients have been great and have not chased me and it is so appreciated. But once this site is up they will have my full attention. As a thank you I have named this piece the ‘Lorraine Tree’. The painting will be moody and misty, slightly spring-like. It is a relatively large piece 60 x 90 cm. I have a few changes to make in terms of colour along with a few more layers to build up depth – my trees generally go through the four seasons before they finally reach their true state! I do so enjoy painting these trees!
